The Wei-Su High-Speed Railway connects Weifang, Shandong Province, and Suqian, Jiangsu Province. It forms part of the Beijing-Shanghai Auxiliary Corridor outlined in the Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan. Construction began in 2024 and is expected to open to traffic in 2028. Upon completion, the Wei-Su High-Speed Railway will greatly facilitate travel for residents of the Yimeng Mountains and the revolutionary base areas of northern Jiangsu. It will also be of vital importance in supporting regional economic and social development, ecological protection, and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.
High-Speed Railway New Bridge-Building Machine Realizes Information Management
The new bridge-building cranes used in the construction of the Weisu High-Speed Railway boast a larger span capacity, significantly improving construction efficiency. While these new cranes are not currently covered by national standards, their larger spans, along with the heavier steel structures, significantly increase their tonnage. Many clients have requested information management to monitor various safety parameters for these cranes. After three years of development, WTAU's bridge-building crane monitoring information system has matured and is now in use on several major domestic projects.
Traditional Hanging Basket Construction Realizes Intelligent Management
While large-span bridges are constructed using bridge-building cranes, traditional small-span cast-in-place beams are still primarily constructed using hanging baskets. Diamond-shaped hanging baskets have long been used extensively in high-speed rail construction, and traditional hanging baskets present difficulties and high risks in construction safety management. In the Weisu High-Speed Railway project, the construction team proposed the concept of a "smart hanging basket," the core idea of which is to bring computerized and intelligent management to the entire hanging basket construction process.
After several technical discussions, WTAU developed a complete intelligent gantry crane solution. This solution utilizes real-time monitoring through visual and sensory perception, and builds a 3D twin model to create a real-time visual monitoring and management platform. This allows for full-process monitoring, visualization, and early warning of gantry crane construction, ensuring seamless management.
Comprehensive Equipment Information Solutions
Another major project in high-speed rail construction is prefabrication of bridge decks. This involves building a beam mill, prefabricating box girders, and then using bridge deck laying equipment to complete the deck installation. On the Qingdao section of the Weizhou-Suzhou High-Speed Railway, WTAU also provided services for safety monitoring of bridge-erecting machines in the beam-making yard and a collision avoidance system for beam transport vehicles. The posture monitoring of bridge-erecting machines and Beidou-based path planning for beam transport vehicles have been implemented in multiple projects, including the Chongqing-Kunming, Chengdu-Chongqing, Shanghai-Nantong, and Weizhou-Suzhou railways. The stable and mature equipment provides effective data support for project construction management.
WTAU's construction equipment information and intelligent solutions have covered the entire process of moving, transporting, and erecting in high-speed rail construction. We are committed to providing users with solutions that make operations safer and management more efficient.
